Rutger de Vries is well known for his large-scale painting installations. With the new Micro Series for Post Modern Collection, artist Rutger de Vries translates these room filling works to a small scale, suitable for every context.
This is a unique chance to have your own, genuine Rutger de Vries installation. A vibrant DIY work, where ever you want.

In his monumental painting installations Rutger de Vries connects fire extinguishers filled with paint and sprays them via self-build sprinkler installations creating room filling paintings.
Intrigued by oscillating garden sprinklers (a tube with holes that sprays out water in a fan–like pattern) he designs his own sprinkler systems. Often made out of tubes with holes from which the paint is sprayed onto the surface. This tube system is a recurring element in his work.

Lately De Vries is investigating how he can translate the concept of his impressive installations into a different scale and form.
Next to designing his own spray caps for spray cans he came to the idea to make a miniature version of the room filling sprinkler installation.
This led to the Micro Series, an edition of 9 unique works specially made for Post Modern Collection.

Each work has a one-off color combination that can be sprayed into a gradient on the wall via a custom-made sprinkler kit. The small installations create the opportunity to purchase one of De Vries’ signature painting installations for enthusiasts who don’t have the space for a large-scale painting installation.
